Your priorities

Give your board a clearer financial picture.

A board meeting should be a place to make decisions—not the first time someone discovers a question in the accounts. Whether you are preparing reports, discussing a new priority or responding to a CRA inquiry, start with the information your organization needs and the responsibilities your team already carries.

  • What does our board need to understand from the financial statements?
  • Which reporting or return-preparation tasks do we need help with?
  • How can our financial information support planning and accountability?

How we help

Financial statements

Prepare financial statements and discuss the reporting engagement appropriate for your organization. Explain who uses the reports and any requirements you have been given.

Return preparation

Get support preparing applicable charity and not-for-profit returns. The work should reflect your organization’s circumstances, rather than treating every organization the same.

Working with LLT

Start with your organization—not a standard answer.

Tell us what your organization does, who handles its day-to-day records and what the board is trying to achieve. You may need help with a defined reporting task, or a broader conversation about financial information and planning. An initial conversation helps identify the work you actually need.

Useful answers

Questions about nonprofit and charity accounting

Can LLT help with nonprofit financial statements?

Yes. LLT’s services include financial statement preparation and accounting and assurance engagements for not-for-profit organizations. Let the team know who needs the statements and what requirements your organization has received.

Can we discuss financial questions before a board meeting?

You can contact LLT about financial reporting, advice, planning and accountability. Include the meeting date and the question you want to address so the team can discuss scope and timing with you.

What should we include in a first inquiry?

Share your organization’s name, whether you are contacting us for a nonprofit or a charity, and a short description of the support you need. Tell us about relevant timing without sending confidential financial records through the form.

We already have a bookkeeper. Can we still ask about accounting support?

Yes. Explain the work already covered and the reporting or advisory work you are seeking. That context helps the team discuss a suitable scope without assuming you need to replace arrangements that are working.
